Hello Everyone,

Last Friday my friend convinced me to go to a local con, that started that day. I had never been to a con before (it really isn't that shocking, close your mouthes) so I had no idea what to expect and absolutely no costume to wear. Lucky for me my friend didn't have anything prepared either since we were both coming from work and all.
I did vlog my experience so if you want you can check out the videos:
:bulletorange:Table Flipping Panel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkLEsJ…
I ended up having a really good time and spending a little bit more than I had hoped I would, but that's alright it was all worth it.
For those who don't want to watch the vlogs I'll let you know what all I got. I ended up getting more than just what I bought so first I'll tell you what I bought.
:bulletorange:My first purchase was a lovely Sailor Moon Mug. I've always wanted some kind of Sailor Moon memorabilia that wasn't a plushie/pin/ect.
:bulletorange:The second thing I bought was a Mameshiba plushie. Another thing I've wanted for quite a while, but I never wanted to order one online, so when I saw this one for not a bad price I had to have it.
:bulletorange:The third thing I bought was a League of Legends poster for my boyfriend. I don't put posters up or really have any use for them, but my friend wanted the 4 for $20 deal and was having trouble picking out 4 so I bought something for my boyfriend (they didn't have his favorite players so I was kinda sad, but I thought he would like it anyway).
:bulletorange:The fourth thing that I bought was a Vaporeon necklace. The pendant is actually a real pokemon card, cut and made into the pendant. I was able to choose and customize everything right there too which was really cool.
:bulletorange:The fifth thing I bought was for a very special reason: to get it autographed. Because the voice of "Brock" and "James" from pokemon was there I decided to get a Charizard plushie specifically for Eric Stuart to sign. He signed it Eric "James" Stuart.
:bulletorange:And finally I bought a pokeball pin because you have to buy at least one pin when you go to a con (something I've learned from friends). I have this pin on my Charizard because I've captured him!
:bulletorange:The next thing I got (actually the first thing I did at the con) was get Eric Stuart's signature. I got it on my Pocket Monster shirt I bought from TurtleTee. (It's a Charmander in a pocket printed onto the shirt - also reason why I chose the Charizard plushie: so I could have a matching set~!) My shirt is signed Eric "Brock" Stuart.
:bulletorange:While we were getting our pokemon pendants my friend bought me and herself a pair of kitty ears. Mine are all purple and remind me of Espeon. They had 2 for $7 sale so she got me them for my first con.
:bulletorange:And finally I was extremely lucky enough to FIND a pair of Steampunk goggles! My friend wanted to make a call and went back into a hallway that was more quiet and that's where I found them. We looked around and the hallway was completely deserted and we even walked around listening to hear if someone had complained about losing some, but we never heard anyone and no one came up asking either. I feel bad that someone lost them because they are pretty expensive (range from $35 - $95 - and the only $35 was a monocle), but at the same time I really kinda like them and am pretty excited I have them. I even listened the next day, but still heard no one talk about losing them.
So the conclusion I made is that I had a good time and would like to go to another one. My friends and I are actually starting to plan for Pokecon in July. But this time I'm gong to plan out every penny so I only get so much money to spend on merchandise and the like. I really hope to go so I can get my Charizard signed by the original Ash and Prof Oak voice actors~!
Moral of this Journal: if you haven't gone to a con before you should at least go to one, and starting at a small one isn't a bad idea either.

Lots of Love and Hugs,

Don't feel bad about not cosplaying. I've been to two cons and didn't dress up for either of them. Well for one I had a friend loan me an outfit but I got over heated in it and had to take it off.
