I lost my bento carrying bag when I moved/divorced T___T I will have to get another one.... These are neat tutorials though!! I have tried many times eating sushi and nori but I cannot get past the strong fishy taste and the texture of raw fish :( I would love to make onigiri without needing nori....do you have any suggestions?

Aww you can make one. I only bought one of the bags that I own and that's because it came with it.

I don't know of a substitute for nori. Because it is such a unique ingredient

Ok thanks!! I will have to search the net to see if I can find some ideas... I love bento but I wish I loved sushi/nori just as much T___T

I guess I can still bento w/o that stuff tho.... I will just have to get creative :D

Yes you can. You don't have to use anything that you dislike. You will just have to search (google?) nori substitutes an the like. It's all just a bunch of research really and trial and error

Uh oh. I dun like picky eaters, when I have kids they will eat everything >w< it's ok to have a couple of things they won't eat, but they can't eat crap and just crap all the time. My children would go hungry quite a lot then.

Aw, I didn't know you could even mold a hard boiled egg! What a great idea. Leave it to the Japanese to create such crazy awesome things. Haha! I'll definitely have to find a mold now.

Yeah but I can't cook to save my life! I can make a killer Easy Mac, but usually people smile and spit politely into their napkins when I try to make food. :P Did I ever tell you about how I burned water??

I put water on to make ramen, and proceeded to go play WoW and forgot all about it. A half-hour or so later the fire alarm started going off, and I remembered that I had put the pan on the stove and left it. The pan was completely black on the outside, and completely white on the inside. >_<

I didn't buy mine, they were given to me. My friend had a friend that didn't want them so she gave them to her. My friend didn't really need them and knew I made bento so she kindly gave them to me. You can find them for a reasonable price online though. I would probably get them off of ebay myself.

Awesome, but is there any way to do that with egg whites, cause I don't like the yoke.

Not that I know of. I mean the eggs are cooked when they go into the mold, so I don't think it's possible.

:iconprincesspuffpupp5153:
Hmmm...is it possible to cook the egg whites in the water like you would do with a poached egg and then add it to the mold?

I don't think it would because the egg white would spread out. For this the egg is in it's shape and then is flexible to be molded. It isn't being squished or held together, it's just being lightly compressed, you could always cut it in half and take the center out though.
