I have been very sick for over a week now and I decided that since I'm going to see Shen Yun tonight I need all the strength and body cleansing I can get! It doesn't hurt that it goes along with the theme either haha. Jook (Korean, congee in Chinese or rice porridge in Japanese) is a food that Asian Cultures eat for breakfast or when they are feeling ill. It's nourishing and delicious and can be eaten with a variety of condiments. I have paired my jook today with some homemade pickles. I used Harumi Kurihara's recipes. I am a big fan of Kurihara-san's and I just love her recipes. Anyway enough blabber, here is what is in this bento!:
Boiled Red Beans
